Vocational Nursing

Vocational Nursing

APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

FEBRUARY 1, 2017 THROUGH FEBRUARY 28, 2017

The Program is three (3) semesters long in addition to prerequisite coursework. A new cohort of students begins each June and finishes the following May. Upon successful completion of the Program, a certificate in Vocational Nursing is awarded and the student is eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Vocational Nursing in California.

The Program consists of a theory course and a lab course in each semester.  Both courses (theory and lab) must be successfully completed each semester before the student may progress to the next semester.  A failing grade for any reason (e.g. performance, grades, safety etc.) results in the failure of both theory and lab.

The Vocational Nursing Program requires attendance at classes five days out of every seven.  Some portion of these days may occur on weekends, evening and/or weekend hours.

There are four (4) required prerequisite courses in addition to the Vocational Nursing courses which must be completed to satisfy the Program requirements.  Refer to the Application Instructions and FAQs and Vocational Nursing Program Prerequisite Courses documents posted on the Vocational Nursing page of the Copper Mountain College website.

If the student wishes to pursue an Associate Degree in Vocational Nursing, additional coursework is required by the College and the student should meet with a counselor to develop and education plan.  Additional information is available in the Copper Mountain College catalog and may be accessed from the homepage of the College website.
